Kyz kuu is one of the oldest games of the Kazakh people. It refers to the Kazakh national game of equestrian sport group, widely spread among the peoples of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "Kyz kuu" is an ancient kind of sport. In the past it was called "Kyz kashar", "Kyz kualar", but it has not changed much up to our time. This competition, in its essence remains the same as it was before modern times. In the old days, the competition was held between a young man and his bride. If the young man loses, he loses the right to marry the girl because he could not fulfil the requirements. Such an old tradition has long been forgotten. In its ideological content, the modern game "qyz kuu" is not inferior to any of the folk sports that have entered the culture of the peoples of the Union republics. Competitions are held according to the rules of the sport "qyz kuu". The costume of athletes in the national style, from hats to shoes should correspond to the sport "qyz quu". The horse should be fast, frisky and beautiful. The length of the square for "qyz kuu": 300 metres. A girl and a boy are invited to the square. The boy stands 10 metres after the girl and starts the race. When the boy catches up with the girl, according to the rule, he tries to pull the handkerchief from the ring on the left shoulder of the girl. And the girl on the contrary, galloping away from the boy in all her might, tries to get to the finish line earlier. And at the second stage the girl chases the guy who is 10 metres ahead, if she catches up, then according to the rules, hitting him with a whip shows that she has caught up.
