Mukasheva Gulsara Karashevna was born on February 21, 1965, in Akmola Region.

From 1982 to 1987, she studied at the S. Seifullin State Pedagogical Institute in Tselinograd, Faculty of Philology. She holds a Master of Science degree from F. Dostoevsky State University (Omsk, Russian Federation) and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

She began her professional career in 1994 at the South Kazakhstan Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, starting as a junior research fellow.

From 2004 to 2022, she worked as Chief Custodian of Collections at the Presidential Center of Culture, the Multidisciplinary Scientific, Analytical, Humanitarian and Educational State Institution «Nazarbayev Center», the Republican State Enterprise «National Art Gallery», as well as at the Military History Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since 2022, she has held the position of Head of the Conservation and Restoration Service of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and since late 2024, she has also served as Head of the Collection Management Service (Chief Custodian).

In 2009, as part of her professional development, she completed advanced training at the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts on the topic «Collection and Exhibition Activities of Museums». In the same year, she participated in a seminar-training program organized by the Smithsonian Institution at the U.S. Embassy. She also completed internships and professional exchange programs at museums in St. Petersburg (the Russian Museum, the Russian Ethnographic Museum, and the Hermitage Museum), as well as at the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Imperial War Museum in London.

One of the most important values of museum collections is the completeness of their informational content and their integration into scholarly research. In this area, G. K. Mukasheva conducted extensive research work, prepared descriptions of thousands of artifacts, and compiled detailed scholarly documentation for unique items. As a result, catalogs, booklets, and guidebooks of thoroughly studied exhibits were published.

Her many years of productive work in the field of culture have made a significant contribution to the development of the country’s cultural life. Particular attention was devoted to the implementation of major projects aimed at preserving and promoting national cultural heritage. Notably, she made a substantial contribution to the establishment of the National Art Gallery in Astana, which facilitated the broad promotion of visual arts and strengthened the connection between professional art and the public.

In addition, she took an active part in the opening of the Military History Museum, which has played an important role in preserving historical memory, military heritage, and fostering patriotic spirit among the younger generation. These cultural institutions have become significant centers contributing to the formation of national identity and the popularization of the country’s history.

For her significant contribution to the development of culture, her achievements have received high recognition and have been honored with numerous state and departmental awards.
