Wood carving

A carpenter is a specialist who makes various consumer goods and home furniture from wood. Craftsmen who make items from wood can be divided into four groups: baltashylar – carpenters of houses, carts, sleighs, doors, window frames and other things; uishiler – masters in making yurt details such as uyk, shanyrak, sykyrlauyk, adalbakan, asadal and other products; carver masters–carpenters of zhukayak, beds, kebezhe, abdyra, clay tools; weavers – masters of weaving baskets, boxes and other household items. Carpentry makeitems of everaday use for eating and drinking: bowls, plates, handles, bowls, oars, handles, kubi, astau, horse harness and household furniture: zhukayak, chest, asadal, adalbakan, bed, besik, etc. Wooden products were durable and light, so they were convenient to use in the nomadic life of the Kazakhs. The basic tools of a carpenter are: axe, hammer, saw, chisel, drill, chisel, scraper, screwdriver, pliers, knife and many other carpentry tools.
