Traditional Kazakh ornament art (koshkarmuiiz, kustandai, tuietaban, kazmoiyn, etc.)

Ornament is a unique art of the Kazakh traditional culture, symbolizing as a single phenomenon the inner soul of a person and his connection with the environment. Ornaments are reflected in design, composition and color as examples of harmonious, rhythmically ordered elements. The Kazakh national ornament occupies an important place in the culture of the population. Common types of Kazakh ornament: 1) zoomorphic – stylized images of animals – horses, sheep, camels, birds, which are of great importance in the life of the people. These are ornaments such as «muiiz», «tuietaban», «kustandai», «kazmoiyn» 2) plant character – stylized images of flowers, tulips, leaves, trees, branches. Kazakhs often decorated their clothes with such embroidered patterns. 3) geometric, simple shapes – triangles, squares, polygons, crosses, ovals and zigzags. These include the expressions «kosdongelek», «bagan ornek», «ilmek», «tumarsha». Such elements are the oldest, they were used to decorate woven carpets, they are still used in jewelry. 4) cosmogonic signs symbolizing the sun, stars, and earth (“star”, “shugyla”, «tortkulak», «bitpes», «shimai»). ). Kazakhs decorated the edges of carpets in many ways with the element of infinity – “shet oyu”.
