Heroes who defended the nation and the great poet who elevated the spirit of the people

Organized by the Department of Museum Pedagogy and Children's Creativity, a museum lesson entitled «Heroes Who Defended the Nation and the Great Poet Who Elevated the Spirit of the People» was held within the framework of the «Historical Figures» project. The event was dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, Victory Day, and the 180th anniversary of the birth of Zhambyl Zhabayev.

The purpose of the event was to preserve the memory of national heroism, the ideals of defending the homeland, and the spirit of bravery among younger generations, as well as to promote patriotism and national pride through the poet’s literary works.

Students from the IT School-Lyceum of Kosshy, Quantum TECH School, and School-Lyceum No. 72 took part in the museum lesson.

The lesson was aimed at widely promoting the life and creative legacy of the great poet, instilling patriotism, courage, and national spirit reflected in his works, and fostering appreciation for his literary heritage among young people. The event opened with a special musical dedication performed by Marsel Yersainov, a student of the Faculty of Traditional Musical Arts at the K. Bayseitova Kazakh National University of Arts. The students then recited Zhambyl Zhabayev’s poems written for children.

As part of the event, an exhibition was organized featuring collections of the poet’s works, the military epaulettes and copies of documents belonging to Sagadat Nurmagambetov, the first Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a Hero of the Soviet Union, preserved in the collection of the Military History Museum of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan. Copies of military documents belonging to wartime soldiers were also displayed. Senior Sergeant Almagul Baidauletova presented the exhibition, highlighting the historical significance of each artifact and explaining the value of the nation’s military heritage.

The event continued with a presentation by museum researcher Serik Abdrakhmanov, who introduced participants to the diorama «In the Volokolamsk Direction».

The lesson concluded with an informative tour through the World War II exhibition in the «History of Kazakhstan from the 13th to the 20th Centuries» hall, providing participants with a deeper understanding of this important historical period.
