Artist Ansağan Mustafa’s exhibition «Söyle, Suret» has opened

An exhibition by artist Ansagan Mustafa titled «Söyle, Suret» has opened at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by cultural and arts figures, deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, and media representatives.

During the opening ceremony, Director of the National Museum Berik Abdygaliuly noted that many internationally significant exhibitions had previously found their audience and expressed confidence that this exhibition would also resonate with hundreds of visitors.

«Ansagan Mustafa’s works encourage viewers to reflect and to gain a deeper understanding of changes in society. The museum always supports creative initiatives that raise pressing social issues by organizing exhibitions like this», the museum director emphasized.

The exhibition features around 70 graphic works addressing current issues of modern society. Through artistic expression, the artist explores important themes such as loneliness in the era of social media, technological addiction, human relationships, family values, unemployment, as well as financial and digital dependency.

Welcoming the guests, Ansagan Mustafa expressed gratitude for the attention and noted that the social issues she addresses are gradually becoming global in nature.

Daulet Karibek, Executive Secretary of the AMANAT Party, also commented on the exhibition’s content, highlighting the impact of the modern information space on society. He stressed the need for careful use of social media.

«Ansagan Mustafa’s work is a mirror of modern society. In Chinese philosophy, there is a saying: «a person becomes what they eat». In the same way, a person gradually becomes like the content they consume on social media – what they watch, who they follow, and what information they receive. I am confident that the works in this exhibition will make every viewer reflect and critically reconsider their own choices», said D. Karibek.

The «Söyle, Suret» project was launched in Astana in 2014 and has since been presented in many cities across the country. This exhibition marks the 200th anniversary show in the artist’s career. To date, her works have been exhibited in more than 30 countries worldwide.

The exhibition is held on the 6th floor of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will be open to visitors until May 19, 2026.
