On April 2, at the National Museum, a competition in the traditional game «Bestemshe» titled «My Wonderful World» was held as part of the «Meirim» project, dedicated to World Autism Awareness Day.
Children with special educational needs took part in the event. They represented the Public Association «Federation of National Sports for People with Disabilities of Astana», School-Gymnasium No. 10 named after Zh. Tashenov, Secondary School No. 103, and Secondary School No. 24 named after Zh. Aymauytuly.
The aim of the competition was to promote a healthy lifestyle, develop intellectual and physical abilities through national games, enhance logical thinking, improve fine motor skills, and increase interest in traditional games.
At the beginning, the rules of the «Bestemshe» game were explained, after which participants competed across several stages. The children showed great enthusiasm and interest, making the competition lively and engaging.
A supportive and inclusive environment was created for children with special educational needs, allowing them to freely demonstrate their abilities.
During the event, equal opportunities were provided to all participants, and each child’s abilities and level of engagement were taken into account. At each stage, participants were evaluated on their logical thinking, speed, attentiveness, and ability to develop game strategies. The judging was fair, and the best players were identified.
According to the results, the winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts. In addition, all participants received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their active participation.
The event had a positive impact on the children’s social adaptation, boosted their self-confidence, and fostered greater interest in national games.
