The Museum Pedagogy and Children's Creativity Department held an appliqué-making workshop entitled «My Mother’s Caring Hands» as part of the «Craft Planet» club activities in celebration of Mother’s Day. The purpose of the event was to develop students’ creative abilities, foster love and respect for mothers, and provide aesthetic education through arts and crafts.
The workshop was attended by students of Y. Altynsarin Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 83, as well as children with special educational needs from the Bereke Social Center.
During the event, participants were introduced to the basic stages and techniques of appliqué making. Afterwards, using colored paper and decorative materials, the students created handmade artworks dedicated to their mothers.
Throughout the workshop, the children communicated freely with one another and developed teamwork skills. The creative activities encouraged them to express their thoughts openly, convey their emotions through art, and build self-confidence. In addition, the event had a positive impact on the social adaptation of children with special educational needs and provided them with a joyful and uplifting experience.
