The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the «Baldyrgan Guide» event in celebration of International Museum Day.
The project brought together future tour guides aged 4 to 6 from Astana’s kindergarten institutions No. 47 «Ak Zhelken», No. 9 «Nur Shashu», and «Shagala».
Opening the event, Akmaral Ibrayeva, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Kazakhstan, congratulated everyone on International Museum Day and noted that the «Baldyrgan Guide» project has become an annual tradition. «Our little children are already contributing to the development and prosperity of our country», she said.
Young participants – Aissaule Galymova, Nursaya Kazbek, Ansar Chigenov, Ibragim Amangeldiyev, Yerkezhan Margulan, Kozaiym Kemelbek, Abulkhair Zhanaliyev, Alikhan Muratkhan, Kudiret Sembek, and Inzhu Muratbek – conducted engaging tours through the museum halls. Starting from the Atrium, the children introduced visitors to the exhibits in the Paleontology Hall, Gold Hall, and Gold Hall-2, sharing fascinating facts along the way. The young guides confidently presented information in both Kazakh and Russian about dinosaurs, tyrannosaurs, the Golden Man, the Sarmatian leader, and the Taksai Princess.
According to Aigul Rakhtayeva, methodologist of the excursion service department, the event was first launched at the National Museum in 2022 as part of the Year of Children initiative.
«The aim of the event is to introduce children to the history of Kazakhstan, spark their interest in history, foster patriotism, enhance the creative potential of the younger generation, and develop their excursion guiding skills», said Aigul Nuridenkyzy.
The children, their parents, and teachers expressed gratitude to the National Museum of Kazakhstan for organizing the event, noting that such initiatives help broaden children’s knowledge and develop leadership qualities.
At the end of the project, the young participants and their teachers were awarded certificates of appreciation and small gifts.
