A quest game organized by the «Young Archaeologist» club was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event aimed to introduce students to the field of archaeology, methods of studying ancient artifacts, as well as to develop their logical thinking, teamwork skills, and cognitive engagement.
The event took place in the «Ancient and Medieval History» hall. The club leader and archaeologist Suleiman Tilekishev gave students a brief introduction to archaeology as an academic discipline and explained the basics of excavation work. He also asked questions related to historical artifacts and described the entire process of archaeological research – from the tools used during excavations to the inclusion of discovered artifacts into the museum collection.
The quest game consisted of several sections, including «Who Is an Archaeologist?», the educational game «Assemble the Fragments», the activity game «Which One Does Not Belong?», and the «True or False» challenge. The children identified artifacts shown in pictures and actively participated in group tasks.
The quest lesson, organized within the framework of the «Young Archaeologist» club by the Department of Museum Pedagogy and Children’s Creativity, helped increase children’s interest in archaeology and contributed to the development of their historical thinking skills. During the quest, students carried out research activities, became acquainted with archaeological materials, and attempted to uncover the secrets of past eras.
