Inclusive dance: A space of equal opportunities

The VIII Inclusive Museum Festival of Children's Creativity «Meiirim» titled «Inclusive Dance: A Space of Equal Opportunities» is being held at the National Museum with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information.

The main goal of the festival, traditionally held annually, is to support the socio-cultural adaptation of children with special educational needs, develop their creative potential, reveal their talents, and promote the values of equal opportunities in society.

This year, more than 140 children from Astana and various regions of the country took part in the festival. Participants included social centers, public foundations, specialized schools, and creative groups. Notably, the «Zharkyn DAMU» group from Aktau and the inclusive group «Batyl Zhurek» from Karaganda specially arrived to showcase their performances.

The stage featured dances of Kazakhstan and world nations, contemporary choreographic performances, fashion theatre shows, and unique creative acts. Each participant won the audience’s warm appreciation.

Senate deputies Yesbol Amangeldi and Asem Rakhmetova attended the event, emphasizing the importance of the festival for society.

«The more often issues of inclusive development are raised, the more effort and such important platforms are needed. Currently, a comprehensive draft law aimed at educating and providing full support to children with special needs is being developed in Parliament», said Asem Kalashbaikyzy.

The festival’s guest of honor, Leonid Tarasov, founder of the Inclusive Dance international movement in Russia, highlighted the significance of the event and wished the participants success.

Among the sponsors who supported the festival at a high level were Gulmira Khairova, HR Director of BAZIS-A Holding LLP, Bayan Shayakhmetova, Executive Director of the «Akniyet» Foundation, SpecTrade TM LLP, the confectionery chains «Tap-Tatti» and «Marmeladka», as well as the public foundation «World of Equal Opportunities».

The generous support and strong social responsibility of caring benefactors brought great joy to the participants and made a significant contribution to the development of creativity among children with special needs.
