At the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a round table discussion and the presentation of a scientific catalog were held, dedicated to April 12 – the Day of Science Workers. This professional holiday is established in honor of the birthday of the first President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, academician Kanysh Satbayev.
The round table was held under the theme «Continuity between museums and science in the study of national values».
Additionally, a scientific catalog titled «Ancient and Early Medieval Weapons in the Collections of the National Museum» was presented. It was prepared in collaboration with specialists from the A. Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology. This publication is a valuable work that systematically describes unique examples of military equipment from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Early Iron Age, and Turkic periods.
The event was moderated by Akmaral Ibrayeva, Deputy Director for Research at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor. During the event, several scholars delivered presentations, and participants exchanged views.
The event was attended by representatives of the academic community, archaeologists, historians, anthropologists, ethnographers, cultural scholars, museum professionals, representatives of public organizations, government bodies, local authorities, and research institutes.
As a result of the event, interdisciplinary connections between archaeology and the social sciences were strengthened, and new scientific approaches to preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage were proposed.
