Ambassadors and embassy representatives cut the symbolic ties for the children of the orphanage

A large-scale cultural event titled «Nauryz – a celebration of renewal and unity» was held at the National Museum in honor of the Nauryz holiday.

Museum Director Berik Abdygaliuly emphasized that celebrating Nauryz within the museum is not merely a traditional festive event, but also an important expression of honoring national heritage and strengthening cultural continuity.

«The comprehensive event being organized aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of our people. By bringing together national traditions, crafts, folk games, and traditional musical art into a unified space, it seeks to create a meaningful and educational spiritual environment within the museum», he said.

As part of the museum’s annual good tradition, a «tusaukeser» ceremony was held during the event, in which the ceremonial cutting of the ties of five children from a specialized orphanage under the Astana city administration took place. Representatives from the embassies of Kyrgyzstan, Belgium, Romania, Germany, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan participated in the ceremony, along with representatives of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency. Honored guests also included representatives of the embassies of Slovakia, France, the Vatican, Ukraine, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as well as the Indian Cultural Center.

In addition, specialists from the museum’s conservation and restoration department organized a handicrafts fair, showcasing the finest examples of national craftsmanship to visitors.

A city tournament among school students of the capital was also held featuring traditional games such as togyzkumalak, bestemse, mancala, bes taban, and bes asyk, which increased young people’s interest in traditional games.

Performances on stage were given by the Folk Instruments Ensemble of the Kazakh National Drama Theatre named after K. Kuanyshbaev, artists of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, and the state academic concert organization «Kazakhconcert», creating a special festive atmosphere for the audience.

The celebration continued with a creative evening titled «The Resonant Sound Brought by Spring» by akyn performer and terme singer, international competition laureate Alikhan Duysenbay. The event evolved into a rich concert program that widely promoted the deep roots and melodic traditions of national art.
